After researching and trying to find a replacement (HD, Lowe’s) we struck out until we heard about countryside locks. Ordered online , fast delivery. Fits perfectly and easy to install. Highly recommend

Perfect. I found a you tube video on “installing a new cylinder on a ThermaTru door” or MPL door. I was able to change my lock myself with no prior door installation knowledge or lock knowledge. I bought a 31.5/31.5 Hoppe cylinder. The instructions were non-existent, so it might help your customers to give them a reference to the YouTube video. How many people change the locks when they move into a new home? Probably a lot more people if they knew how easy it is with simple instructions, a Phillips screwdriver for one screw that requires removal and a hex wrench to remove the thumbturn.

Same as a brand new lock,easy to install. very satisifed.

This replacement lock was perfect in every way. However there is a minor problem with strike boxes for the door jamb. You can put one in the cavity for the latch but if you put one in the cavity, it makes it hard to lock the door.
I believe that the sides of the strike box tend to cave inwards and thereby resist the entry of the dead-bolt. I had had this problem for years on the lock I replaced (the latch return spring broke) and believed there was some design fault in the Atrium lock. Removing the strike box from the jamb cavity solves this problem.

Attempting to replace original, it was nice to find the exact replacement. However, soon after install the deadbolt mechanism failed and the door is now in the locked position with no obvious solution. This is EXACTLY the symptom of the OLD lock that I was hoping to rectify. In addition, the supplied bushings do not fit and the handles did not seat properly. I had to painstakingly sand the bushings and use a lubricant to get the handles to seat properly. Poor design and/or quality control. I'm not sure what to do next!
